In English:

Aigy Paigy is a way of speaking in any language. There are three rules to speaking it:
  1. Add a sound of "ag"(like 'plague' or vague') into each syllable, after the first sound.
  2. If the first sound of the syllable is a vowel then put the ag before the sound.
  3. Keep the sound of the original word to allow people to translate it.

Below is a section of text in English and then in Aigy Paigy in an attempt to help you.

English:

"Why this domain name?" you might ask. Well, in Aigy Paigy, it means 'what', which is the reason behind the 'Wh' and the 'at' being highlighted in the logo. It is not difficult to speak if you get some practice. It took me a month to master it, but it takes some people much less time, others, much more time. My aim, now, is to get as many people as possible to speak it or at least understand it.

I think I have hit the total of 10 people speaking it and around 100 people understanding it. It's called Aigy Paigy as you add the sound of "ag" into each syllable. However, the name doesn't actually mean anything, other than "ey pee". There aren't really that many rules to it and if you have been doing it for a while, you can understand it in different ways. It also has exactly the same grammatical rules as English!

My dad taught me how to speak it and helped me through the first steps of it. And his dad taught him and his mum taught him. You could say it is a family tradition, really, but I know other people who can either speak it or can understand it.

To put it simply, you put the sound of "ag"(as in 'plague' or 'vague') into each syllable after the first sound. However, if it is a vowel at the start of the syllable then you put the "ag" before it. The final rule is to keep the sound of the original word too, while having all of the "ag"s in there. This is the most difficult part, for me, at the start, as I just put the "ag" into each word and then making it sound like it looks.

I found it easier to learn with somebody else because at least you only sound foreign and not crazy.

*1 Notice how the syllables are 'lo-go', however, in Aigy Paigy it is easier to say it as 'log-go'.

*2 As you pronounce one as "w-one" the ag goes after the first sound, which is "w". This is a good reason why it is easier to understand Aigy Paigy when spoken to in it.

I am still developing this, so it is definitely incomplete and at some point in the future a "decent" graphical interface will be created instead of these ASCII characters.

If you don't yet know what Minecraft is, then you better go look it up or the link which is just there. In my opinion, Minecraft is one of the best games I've ever played. It allows you to be so creative, but at the same time have the thrills of any other game. It has made me frustrated, angry and thoroughly annoyed (those damn Creepers) but also, if I can build something before it is destroyed, has made me happy and at least feel like I have achieved something with my persistance!

I currently host a vanilla or "pure" server. It does not have any mods and the staff are not allowed to cheat. I make sure that the server log(which is best viewed in Firefox or a browser that will not open it in notepad) is uploaded to show that we don't. It is a friendly atmosphere on the server and a good place to learn the basics(unless you annoy us too mcuh). So far, it has mannaged to stay safe from griefers, but hourly backups are taked, and have been archived away safely.

Server Rules:

  • No unprovoked attacks: There must be some reason for an attack, like trespassing, stealing or mining another's resources.
  • War: Wars are allowed, as long as both players/party's they know they are at war. For example, a post in the forum warning them that they are at war.
  • Stealing while the victim is offline: this gives a complete unfair advantage to the other player and is not allowed!
  • Greifing: Purposely defacing or destroying of another's property or generally preventing the server from running well.
